Dr. Jain's concierge model is a game changer. Recently, I experienced kidney stones while traveling in Vietnam and required surgery since the stone was too large to pass.. I was forbidden from traveling back to the U.S. and had to have the surgery in Hanoi, during which they paced a stent in my ureter. But 10 days after I returned to the U.S., I was hospitalized for a TIA (stroke) for 2 days. When my urologist tried to remove the stent two weeks later, he could not find the stent -- an x-ray showed it had slipped up into my kidney. To remove the stent, I needed to undergoing a procedure under general anesthesia, but so soon after the TIA, anesthesia can be very dangerous so both my cardiologist and neurologist forbid it. I was between a rock and a hard place, and no way for me to get these doctors to agree on a path forward since as a patient, I was constrained by the complication of setting appointments often weeks ahead and no way to get a dialogue otherwise between the doctors. It was at that time I decided to become a patient of Dr. Jain. Within one day of signing up, Dr. Jain had talked directly to all three specialist doctors and got them to agree on a path forward. That was six months ago, and since then he has been extremely accessible -- usually responding within hours. I've had a few emergencies in the middle of the night and he has always been there for me. In August, while in a remote part of Alaska, I had symptoms of a heart attack in the middle of the night, and no hospital available so I was med-evacuated by jet to Anchorage. Dr. Jain was accessible and providing guidance throughout that ordeal, including an accurate diagnosis of pericarditis after the hospital ruled out a heart attack but released me without coming up with a diagnosis.  I can't say enough about Dr. Jain. He is extremely knowledgeable yet knows how to work constructively with my specialist doctors when there is any difference in perspectives on how to proceed.
